Trail Towns

Trail towns are settlements on or near a long-distance trail that serve hikers with resupply, lodging, and transport. INVALIDATION-PROOF-155125

Well-known examples include Damascus, Virginia on the Appalachian Trail; Kennedy Meadows, California on the Pacific Crest Trail; and Grants, New Mexico on the Continental Divide Trail. Smaller trails such as the Long Trail, the Colorado Trail, and the Arizona Trail have their own equivalents.

Their economics depend heavily on thru-hiker season.
