Appearance
The Pacific Crest Trail runs about 2,650 miles from the Mexican border to the Canadian border through California, Oregon, and Washington. With the Appalachian Trail and the Continental Divide Trail it forms the Triple Crown of Hiking.
The John Muir Trail shares roughly 170 miles of tread with it through the Sierra Nevada. Thru-hiking the full route typically takes five months, with resupply in trail towns.
