John Muir Trail

The John Muir Trail runs 211 miles through the Sierra Nevada from Yosemite Valley to the summit of Mount Whitney. It overlaps the Pacific Crest Trail for most of its length.

It is short enough to be walked in three weeks, making it a common first long trail before attempting the Triple Crown of Hiking. See also Thru-hiking.
